PARDON OUR DUST! An Exhibition of Vintage Posters 1967-1975
PARDON OUR DUST! | An Exhibition of Vintage Posters 1967-1975
February 3 - February 18, 2018
These Days is thrilled AF to be partnering with $CRAP$ in presenting an exhibition of vintage posters from the medium’s counterculture heyday: 1967-1975. Recently unearthed from a cache of head shop originals, the pieces in this collection celebrate sex-and-drugs culture in the most unpolished and least affected of tones. That this hyper-sexualized, psychedelic, biker-themed paper ephemera was produced for basements, garages or adolescents’ bedrooms makes it all the more effective as an authentic historical document of its time.
Owned and operated by photographer and collector Tony Stamolis, $CRAP$ is located in Fresno, the lint filled belly button of California and the fruit basket of the world. $CRAP$ carries on the head shop tradition with a modern twist, feeding hungry souls with silly, smutty souvenirs they didn't know they needed, while exhibiting artwork by both local and out-of-town artists.
