World Imitation is made up of artwork by the punk cult art collective World Imitation Productions that existed in Los Angeles from 1977-1982. The imagery was taken directly from the 30-some art zine/chapbooks that the collective created during their brief time together and sold in record and punky clothing stores around Los Angeles. Their neo-dada collaged and graphic creations are an absurdist commentary on the Southern California environment of the late 1970s. Published by These Days to celebrate the exhibition Afraid Of Modern Living: World Imitation & Monitor 1977-82 that was held in the gallery in March and April 2017.
